My research journey began working as a statistical analyst for a Sinclair Research Group, a small firm that conducts education research and consults with professional education programs. My research interests have since taken me from studying neuroscience and pre-clinical therapeutics for brain injuries to social science research into professional training programs and conducting program evaluations for legislative initiatives in education. While a graduate student, I was fascinated by brain imaging, biomolecular techniques, and measuring functional outcomes, teasing apart pharmacological, physiological, and behavioral pathways. However, in the midst of studying neuroscience, I found a love for teaching others "how to research." I knew if I was to effectively teach others "how to do research," I first needed to learn "how to be a good teacher." After rejoining Sinclair Research Group, I went back to my Alma Mater to learn to teach and earn my science teaching credential. Shortly thereafter, I became the Director of Research, developing methods to evaluate professional programs aligned to standards. I now work as the CEO, building further partnerships with school districts and other local education agencies around California.Little did I know how broad my research interests would become when behavioral testing rodents and staining slides of brain tissues in my early 20's. I am excited to continue building my toolbox of professional skills, developing partnerships with educators and researchers, and pursuing my personal interests like socio-emotional learning, mental and spiritual health, bio-intensive cultivation, and service.
