About Sindy De La Torre Pacheco, Phd, Ssgb

I am a professional answer searcher. I use mixed methods to understand people's behaviors and attitudes. I use these insights to transform products, create better experiences, and deliver greater business value. While getting my anthropology degree in Mexico, I discovered my passion for being in other people’s shoes and narration from the other’s perspective. When I came to the USA to do my Ph.D., I knew that while qualitative methods provide data for powerful storytelling, I needed to learn quantitative methods to reach a broader audience. So, I did the next natural thing, convinced a mathematician to become my adviser, forcing myself to become proficient in statistics and data analysis.I have spent the last three years helping a mid-size non-profit organization become data-led. I am part of a team that utilizes Design Thinking, analytics, and technology to grow revenue through process optimization and donor/volunteer engagement. I use my people and data skills to bring teams together, lead UX research, UI test, and UI design with staff and customers. My favorite thing about my job is talking to users and utilizing my know-how to offer them a better product. Outside of work, I enjoy attending neighborhood events such as porch concerts, mural fests, art shows camping, and reading while my kids and husband snowboard. Professional skills: User experience design, project management, research design, user research, data analytics, training, mentorship, prototyping, statistics. HCD.
