Obed Sindy holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in public communications and lobbying. He is the founder of the Academie de Competences Essentielles (ACE), keynote speaker on Internet Governance and former President and member of the Board of Directors of the Haitian Chapter of the Internet Society.Obed Sindy represented Haiti in several international events to promote and advocate on Internet Governance. He was the coordinator of the Haiti National Forum on Internet Governance 2018, 2019 and 2020 in partnership with the United Nations to foster an inclusive and multi-stakeholder debate on Internet governance in Haiti.He has been a mentor to young people around the world with Internet Society and Digital Grassroots. In August 2020, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Islands Regional At-Large Organization of ICANN, an internet regulatory authority.In 2019, he received the Outstanding Young Person of the Year Award from the Junior Chamber International Haiti (JCI), Field: Humanitarian and/or volunteer leadership.He is also the author of the book “Overview of Internet Governance: Haiti in the World”
