The title of my PhD thesis is ”Development and application of QSAR models for mechanisms related to endocrine disruption”. In the PhD project I have:(i) collected and evaluated of the quality of available in vitro data for relevant endpoints in the endocrine system, focusing on the thyroid hormone system and OECD's Adverse Outcome Pathways (ii) developed and validated of QSARs (i.e., statistical models) for selected endpoints (iii) applied the models to screen large inventories of industrial chemical structures (iv) used the QSAR models to analyze associations between mechanistic endpoints My PhD project has given me basic skills and competences such as:● Stakeholder and project management● Collection, analysis and interpretation of data● Scientific writing and communication of complex information, written and orally

I worked as a research assistant in the Division of Toxicology and Risk Assessment in the research group for Molecular Toxicology in a sub-group that develop QSAR (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship) models for relevant endpoints for human health, e.g. mutagenicity, cancer and endocrine disruption. These models are used to screen large inventories of industrial chemicals for the Danish EPA in order to shed a light on their potential adverse effects on human health. I have been involved in the documentation of QSAR models and the quality control of the predictions in the free, online Danish (Q)SAR Database.
