I work as a wafer process engineer making photonic devices (microLEDs )in a cleanroom in the micro and nano technology center in RAL. Duties include; Process development, lithography, etching, PECVD of insulation layers, ebeam sputter and thermal metal deposition, SEM, probing, calibration, script writing and continuous improvement experiments. My project was in the Advanced Optics and Photonics group. I looked at the generation of ultrasonic waves using interactions with lasers and nanoparticals, such as quantum dots and nanorods. This involved computer simulations in MatLab and experiments.

I completed my MSc. in Nano Bio Science in Ucd which is run by the physics department. My thesis title was Magneto-Optical Kerr Effects in Surface Plasmonic Trilayers.
