As a Cadet Engineer at a Palm Oil Mill, I oversee daily operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the Mill. My key responsibilities include:(i) Safety Management: Enforcing safety protocols to protect workers and maintain a hazard-free environment.(ii) Maintenance Oversight: Coordinating regular and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.(iii) Environmental Compliance: Monitoring waste management systems to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and sustainable practices. Furthermore, ensuring that the waste that are produced such as Scheduled Waste are properly handled, stored and finally disposed of accordingly.(iv) Performance Optimization: Striving to achieve and exceed the targeted Oil Extraction Rate (OER) and Kernel Extraction Rate (KER). Higher-Level Responsibilities:(i) Regulatory Compliance:- Ensure the mill adheres to standards such as RSPO, MSPO, and GMP.- Prepare for and manage compliance audits and certifications.(ii) Team Management:- Coordinate with staff to plan and execute production schedules.- Conduct training sessions to improve workforce skills and productivity.(iii) Strategic Initiatives:- Support higher management in long-term projects such as biogas implementation, renewable energy integration, or other sustainability measures.- Evaluate and implement innovations to reduce waste and enhance mill profitability.
