Provide operational support of day to day production activities and support all electrical maintenance activities. Involved in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of all electrical devices in the power plant facility. Provide electrical support on all existing electrical systems including generators, high voltage electric, batteries, switchgear, motors, instrumentation, controls, relays, breakers, motor operated valves, etc. Perform installation on temporary feeds for contractors working onsite, conduit and cable for various new controls installations, instrumentation installation or modernization, and switchgear upgrades. Responsible for performing the necessary testing, repairing and preventative maintenance on hydraulic, electrical, electronic control systems and instrumentation along with ensuring safe and efficient plant operation.

Schedule and track preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment in the propulsion plants that include (4) 2500KW 450Volt 60Hz Turbine Generators, (2) 1000KW 450Volt 60Hz Diesel Generators, (2) 300KW 450Volt 400Hz Motor Generators, (4) Low Pressure Air Plants, (2) High Pressure Air Plants, (2) Distilling Plants, (8) Switchgear Units, (11) Load Centers/Buses, and various Auxiliary Motors/Motor Controllers. Direct Supervisor over 13 Nuclear Electricians and responsible in tasking each sailor in order to complete all aforementioned tasking’s on time. Received a Flag Letter of Accommodation and Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal for the superior performance of my duties while Work Center Supervisor while deployed with Enterprise Strike Group from March to November 2012.

Tasked to oversee all corrective maintenance practices for compliance with Steam Plant Cleanliness, Reactor Plant Cleanliness, and Joint Fleet Maintenance Manuals. Inspect overall operating condition of Electrical Controllers, Auxiliary Equipment, and Generators in the Propulsion Plants in accordance with Equipment Technical Manuals and Preventative Maintenance Requirement Cards.

Performed preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical components in accordance with equipment technical manuals and preventative maintenance requirement cards. Read and interpret schematic diagrams and circuit drawings. Knowledgeable in the inspection and repair of motors and motor controllers. Identify and isolate electrical and mechanical faults to component level utilizing a multi-meter or insulation checker. Repair faulty equipment by rebuilding or replacing electrical components, rewiring, soldering. Perform bearing replacement on faulty motors, which may require operation of a chain hoist for removal and reinstallation. Ensure proper personal protective equipment is used to prevent injury from electrical hazards or hazardous materials.

Schedule and maintained all calibrations required on over 200 propulsion plants meters, temperature switches, pressure switches, gages, and test equipment. Successfully brought Propulsion Electrical Division’s calibration readiness to 100% during the testing period prior to 2012 deployment. Meticulously review schematic diagrams and system drawings to accurately and adequately danger tag equipment to ensure calibration is accomplished in a safe manner.Selected as Engineering Sailor of the Quarter for exemplary work and the success of the calibration program while overseeing the calibration program.
