Advised Senator from Delaware, Christopher Coons, on tax, banking, budget, housing, and manufacturing issues. Represented Senator on Senate Budget Committee, Senate Small Business Committee, and Senate Appropriations Committee—Financial Services & General Government Subcommittee. Authored bipartisan legislation related to small business, manufacturing, and tax which were enacted into law. Drafted speeches, talking points, and opinion pieces for Senator’s use on MSNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN, and other national media outlets.

Assessed the cost, viability, and impact of federal credit programs for the President’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Constructed, reviewed, and approved credit cash flows for government loans and loan guarantees. Portfolio included the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), and the Export-Import Bank. Analyzed credit legislation and agency rulemaking, to assess risk and conformity with administration policy. Trained OMB analysts and agency budgetary staff in credit analysis, modeling techniques, and budget concepts.

Evaluated business proposals from entrepreneurs in distressed communities for Accion New York, now Ascendus. Performed risk assessment for loan proposals by assessing credit risk and forecasting future cash flows. Ascendus is a non-profit organization that empowers low- to moderate-income (LMI) business owners with access to capital and financial education.

Served as Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia, South America. Assisted farmers in capturing more value in the supply chain in first year of service. Managed a micro credit program and instructed program participants and rural teachers in accounting and marketing in second year of service. Elected to Volunteer Advisory Committee; liaised between volunteers and Peace Corps Administration.
