GLEN World (www.glenworld.org) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to scale English literacy so that every child has access to the educational and economic opportunities it unlocks. Our target audience is disadvantaged kids worldwide, ranging from young English Learners in the US to children in remote areas in developing nations. Our approach for scaling is to build a comprehensive suite of immersive and personalized learning content to enable children to go from “zero to reading, writing and speaking” with minimal skilled adult supervision. GLEN World's content is deployable both online (web apps on Chrome browser, Android apps) and offline (via Android apps). • Corporate director for a remote technology development center (embedded software / digital design / wireless technology R&D) with 13+ staff in Cairo, Egypt. Involved in the incorporation of the center and responsible for the group’s multiple technical projects (next generation wireless backhaul / access product platforms), hiring, and management.• Led the development of several state-of-the-art proprietary technologies (intellectual property / software / firmware) for Axxcss' 5G point-to-point wireless backhaul products. • Served as product lead for a portfolio of LTE wireless access products (eNodeB, EPC) customized for private markets. Led the development / system integration / test teams and interfaced with potential customers. • Conceived of and led the design and development of innovative product features based on market needs: higher aggregate uplink data rates via multiuser MIMO (LTE), automatic antenna alignment (LTE), new system GUI software for the electronic newsgathering market (LTE), line-of-sight MIMO capability (point-to-point 5G wireless backhaul). • Coordinated multiple LTE field trials at customer sites in the US and abroad. Technology demonstrations and presentations at national trade-shows (NAB Show) / conferences / technical forums. • Led a team of researchers to successfully deliver proprietary technologies for 5G wireless backhaul and access products (e.g., uplink multiuser MIMO, line-of-sight MIMO, FEC).

• Led a team responsible for algorithm design and development of LTE self-organizing networks (SON) features (e.g., Inter-cell interference coordination, load balancing, mobility control).• Algorithm design for LTE/LTE-A base station (eNB) MAC layer (Quality of Service (QoS) scheduling, link adaptation, transmit power control).• Built network deployment planning tools (link budget and data rate estimator tools) and advised customers. • Addressed critical LTE system performance issues / bugs working with software/hardware/research teams. • Led the development of an LTE-based solution for Electronic News Gathering (ENG) applications (RF hardware (non-standard carrier frequencies) and software development (optimizing uplink video delivery).• Proposed novel MIMO features for increasing data rates for line-of-sight backhaul products (technical analysis, simulations and market research). Designed a channel aware QoS scheduling algorithm. • Contributed to company’s wireless access and backhaul products roadmaps and development plans. Conducted relevant market research and worked with the design / engineering teams for new products.
