About Rupesh Singh
As the director of the in-vivo imaging core lab at the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, I lead and collaborate with a team of researchers and clinicians to advance the field of ophthalmology with cutting-edge imaging and nanotechnology. I have over 8 years of experience in ophthalmic imaging, image processing, imaging data management, machine learning application in ophthalmology, animal imaging (mouse, zebrafish, rats), clinical data (patient imaging), and donor human eyes imaging. I have developed and applied several image processing and machine learning programs and algorithms for quantifying ophthalmic images, using MATLAB and ImageJ. I have performed and analyzed in-vivo and ex-vivo ophthalmic imaging and laser experiments, using various modalities such as color fundus imaging, optical coherence tomography imaging (OCT), confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (cSLO), fluorescein angiography (FA), ICG angiography, and fundus autofluorescence (BAF / FAF) imaging. I have also developed methods to identify several imaging biomarkers for diseases like diabetic retinopathy, neovascular AMD, and retinal degeneration models. My personal research is focused on nanotechnology-assisted improvements in laser-based treatments of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in laser-induced and spontaneous CNV mouse models, for which I have received a research grant from the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). I am passionate about translating my research findings into clinical practice and improving the quality of life for patients with ophthalmic diseases.
Listed skills include Biomedical Engineering, Matlab, Heat Transfer, Numerical Analysis, and 6 others.
