My professional journey began in my hometown Sarajevo, where I started as an intern while attending graphic school. Fueled by a passion for learning and guided by exceptional mentors, I immersed myself in every facet of the industry, gaining hands-on experience that shaped my expertise.In my early 20s, I seized the opportunity to move to the United States, transitioning into the service industry with dreams of opening a restaurant. My dedication and work ethic were quickly recognized, propelling me to the role of shift manager.A pivotal moment came when I was recruited by a livery service, leading me into the transportation industry as an independent contractor. This role allowed me to explore my entrepreneurial spirit, dabbling in used vehicle wholesale, computer service and repair, and even working as a medical and court interpreter. I thrived on seeking out new and exciting opportunities.Joining Montway was a game-changer. I discovered that logistics was my true calling, perfectly aligning with my strengths and interests. The dynamic nature of the field offered endless opportunities for growth and learning. My hands-on approach, problem-solving skills, and diverse industry experience quickly elevated me to a leadership position. Embracing this role, I have dedicated myself to becoming a better leader and mentor, inspired by the great mentors I had early in my career. My mission is to pay it forward to future generations of logistics professionals.Beyond my professional life, I am captivated by science and technology, with a particular interest in behavior and psychology. I volunteered as a video editor and managed a YouTube channel for the Canine Cancer Alliance non-profit, helping to publicize research on a canine soft tissue sarcoma vaccine in collaboration with Yale University.In my leisure time, I indulge in cooking, traveling, hiking with my dog, and working on my cars.Fun fact: I am an expert pizzaiolo and love catering at personal events, birthdays, and block parties.
