I was born in Northern Ireland beside Lough Neigh and moved over to England in 1984. I have worked with people who have learning disabilities for over 30 years and the last 20 years have been focused in Community Development area. I now work with the Volunteer Centre Dorset and oer the last 5 years involved in setting up and coordinating the Community Credit Scheme. A scheme aimed at supporting people with learning disabilties into volunteering. For each hour they achieve they and their volunteer support recieve 1 community credit note that can then be exchanged for a health & wellbeing activity like a swim, a hot drink or visit to the Sea life Centre in Weymouth.
