I’ve worked in a variety of fields in order to develop a sense of what area I would like to focus my career, as well as to support myself through five years of college. In the fall of 2014 I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a concentration on Mind, Brain, and Behavior. I am thoroughly invested in the education I have received and look forward to applying it to my work. In July of 2014 I gained employment with Consultants For Children Inc. This position was the introduction to my career as a Behavioral Therapist. I received 40 hours of formal training in understanding ASD, as well as implementing BIP’s and ABA techniques. I also received supervised on the job training for the initial therapy provided. In addition to my employment with CFCI, I have begun providing ABA services as a private employee of two families with children diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. I work closely with the BCBA’s and other therapists on each case in order to maintain a high level of consistency and accuracy when implementing programs and tracking data. The several clients to whom I provide services have helped to expand my understanding of ASD and versatility in my approach and techniques. I find my position very rewarding and I look forward to gaining more experience and knowledge in this field. Two years ago I began employment with Mosaic of Northern Colorado. This organization provides service to more than 3,500 individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I initially worked in group home setting, providing personal care, medication administration and occupational support. I since have been providing respite care for CES/SLS individuals in service. I look forward to continuing my career in these fields and hope to gain more valuable experience in doing so.
