This position has encompassed several tasks in developing and managing the increased use of technology and media within the child life department and as a departmental advocate on larger hospital wide media and technology projects. The primary task has been the creation and management of the Skyline Studio for in-house interactive television programming for our pediatric patients, allowing patients in isolation or critical condition to participate remotely in programming taking place in other parts of the hospital. This process has included everything from input in studio design and equipment selection, management of the installation process to the hiring and training of studio staff and ongoing production of programming. Segment development has included conception, direction, production, graphic design, filming and editing. Additional tasks have included facilitating peer supervision groups, developing and maintaining a departmental iPad program, developing and maintaining a hospital-wide gaming program, providing input on the design of the hospital-wide patient care and entertainment system, photography and videography, AV/tech support and design of digital signage and virtual backgrounds, staff training in media and technology tools as well as redeveloping the department's educational materials for external staff.Skills developed or advanced in this position include 3D printing, 3D modeling, Adobe creative suite tools, and TriCaster 8000 (broadcasting equipment).

This position consisted of multiple roles: clinician, supervisor, project lead as well as the host, producer and puppeteer of in-house television programming.Clinically my role was to support complex, high-needs pediatric patients and their families undergoing trauma due to hospitalization. My areas of expertise include Medical Imaging, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiac Services, with additional experience in Orthopedics, Burns, Gastroenterology, Day Medical and Oncology. In addition to my clinical role, I was responsible for supervising mid-level staff, and leading high-level quality projects such as the development of the Okee in Medical Imaging app, a PICU communication tool, electronic preparation books and a departmental iPad program. Okee in Medical Imaging went on to win multiple awards across the fields of education, design and information technology. Additionally, I was the host, producer and puppeteer on Be Positive, an in-house education television program which I developed in collaboration with our internal media team. This program went onto air on local television and our 'A child's guide' segments have amassed millions of views on YouTube. This role included conception, script writing, direction and editing guidance.
