Based on site at Lloyds Bank COPPER (Conservation of Power, Property and Environmental Resources).COPPER X86 Physical Migrations.Project Aim: To migrate all non-prod physical X86 servers from one data centre room to another, the purposes of which was to consolidation the dev/test environment and create space for new production servers. In the first instance I managed the migration of the SAN Attached disk storage between the datacentres. I worked on this autonomously, scheduling the technical team resources and liaising with the application and server owners. The servers were scheduled by vlan using the information provided by BT – this had a high level of importance as it dictated the migration schedule that the 3rd Party worked to during the course of the project.A Rack Layout design was created using guidance from the Datacentre teams and information gathered from the scope documents and online datacentre databases. To complete the migrations I managed the 3rd Party project and technical teams to arrange the 10 events to move all the physical servers across, collating information from the BA’s, raising resource requests for the technical teams required and gaining signoff from the server and application owners for the outages. I built a project plan to track each migrations progress against the T-8 week process and asses RAG status. Throughout the project I was required to report weekly on the project and in accordance with LBG governance structures, tracking project progress and RAID to LBG Senior stakeholder Manager.
