As a communication specialist, I engage with various thought leaders and stakeholders in scientific discussion cultivating collaborative relationships and delivering guidance and expertise in development, testing, and disseminating science and audience-based products, tools, and messages. A key communicator and technical subject matter expert, I serve as a resource in the assessment, planning, development, coordination, implementation, evaluation, translation, and dissemination of scientific information. Collaborating with health communication and various personnel in the Office of the Director and throughout CDC, I provide program-specific expertise and support. I also conduct all strategic communication planning and execution including concept and development, writing and editing, and evaluation of scientific content for print and digital media to garner coverage of health-related messages. Recently I began writing and producing technical documentation for the new CDC Director.• Recognized for excellence in communication with a nomination for Office of the Chief Information Office Communication award within the first six months of service.

Responded to the need for communication clearance in support of the Data & Distribution unit of the COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, supporting Operation Warp Speed. I developed and edited vaccine data and distribution communication content. I also coordinated communication from multiple teams ensuring appropriate communication clearance and collaborating with authors to finalize documents for public distribution via digital media and submitted documents for cross-clearance and emergency response clearance.

In this role, I designed, executed, and published research concerned with the role of herbal supplements on skeletal muscle metabolism. Collaborating with colleagues, I was involved in writing grants, protocols, reports, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. I consistently met research schedule deadlines and surpassed expectations.

I independently developed, organized, prepared, and delivered a premier lab-based learning curriculum for Kinesiology Department Physiology Labs, I also designed labs to coordinate with lectures. Course content focused on exercise and human physiology. I actively engaged students in scientific discussions and applied effective learning methods and strategies to support student learning goals.

As an instructor, I mentored and coached students interested in pursuing a science career. I applied effective learning methods, utilized instructional learning strategies, and supported learning goals for students enrolled in a biomedical program at Summer Ventures in Science & Mathematics. As well, I led discussion groups, laboratory workshop sessions, and seminars.

As a research specialist, I led strategic and scientific research projects directing a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctoral students, clinicians, and physicians. I collaborated with health care professionals and pharmaceutical representatives to assess, evaluate, and determine targeted cancer therapies.
