Here at SCAD, mentor training – certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) – is a mandatory aspect of every mentor’s position. Directors, coaches and staff will conduct sessions on a variety of topics. Focusing on theory and the reasoning behind our “best practices,” each session incorporates content – from within the CRLA handbook and without – that is both accessible and immediately useful to mentors. These sessions also offer a space for mentors to exchange strategies and lend support.

Advised as a video consultant for direction on scripts and stories for video production, reducing budgets, improving production pipelines, and team communication. Designed visual effects for post-production (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro) to form a logical, impactful storyline in the final output. Also, utilized social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Hootsuite) for community outreach with followers daily. Participated in THE CUT, a virtual networking event that connects SCAD film and television students studying editing with alumni and industry professionals from top post-production companies.

Wrote, edited, and directed “Don't Tread On Me," all short films on the web, assembled raw images, footage, and scripts into a finished product. coordinated the film schedule with the cast and crew and worked on post-production tasks such as reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing. Edited all my short films in a timely manner while also meeting all creative requests, ensuring project schedule deadlines and a low budget. Also, oversaw video package creation, including authoring the script, editing, gathering footage, trimming footage, and creating audio for the final output in a SCAD Lacoste showcase. SCAD study abroad programs provided me with a unique opportunity to explore international locations and gain a more global perspective on art and design. It broadened my understanding of other cultures and societies.

The annual Savannah Film Festival showcases award-winning professionals and groundbreaking independent films from seasoned veterans and budding directors alike. Received enlightening insider access to their creative works with admission to screenings, panel discussions, and engaging lectures that show you firsthand what goes into the making of a film. Helped and worked as well as enjoyed as many screenings and panel discussions as possible because working that close to professionals was enlightening and thought-provoking. As an editor, looking to see how pre-production and production are done is a wonderful inspiration that I will continue to explore.
