Performed extensive field data collection in the Arctic Ocean (Northeastern Chukchi Sea) in discipline areas of benthic ecology, zooplankton ecology, mammal and seabird observation, and ocean acidification. Designed a graduate research project aimed at augmenting an aquatic health baseline out of Homer, Alaska, focused on the parasite Ichthyophonus in Pacific halibut. Recipient of the North Pacific Research Board 2017 Graduate Research Assistantship for this work. Led field sampling trips during 2016 and 2017 which entailed; selecting, training, and managing field technicians, coordinating logistics and sampling procedures, regular interface with local community members and fishers, and performing aseptic tissue explants in the field. Conducted statistical analyses and prepared publication-ready manuscript. Successfully defended thesis work in April 2018 and graduated with Masters in Environmental Science Degree in May 2018. Masters research is in process of submission for publication, as of 2019.
