I've been lucky enough to help girls find their courage, confidence and character since 2014! Girl Scouts Dakota Horizon is known for teaching girls to be leaders in the community and it's is my job to help them learn how to become entrepreneurs! As the Product Program Manager, I produce and execute the largest girl-led business program that teaches Girl Scouts how to set goals, make decisions, manage money, develop people skills and build their business ethics - all while having fun selling Girl Scout Cookies!Behind the scenes is a bit more statistics and logistics but just as much fun! Building an enticing rewards program, determining and coordinating the ordering and shipping of over 1 million packages of cookies across 1600 square miles, creating marketing and training materials and managing the financial process of the Girl Scout Fall Product and Cookie Programs is how I fill my days.Prior to working with Girl Scouts, I was a successful business owner for over 14 years. While doing so was extremely gratifying and at times, challenging, I was ready to take on a new chapter in my career. So, in December of 2013, Go Casual became part of my history! However, being a small business owner gave me a unique opportunity to build my skills in many areas. I have extensive experience in sales and customer service, perform well under pressure and have the ability to multi-task - all skills that come in handy while working with over 13,000 volunteers and members. I take the initiative and am always eager to learn new things. I enjoy working with people, planning events and have a very positive attitude! I am also a very organized person and highly efficient.Several years ago, I worked closely with the Downtown Sioux Falls (DTSF) organization and had the privilege of meeting many community-driven people while serving on the DTSF Board of Directors for 6 years. Working in a community-driven organization that continues to elevate others to leadership and achieving their dreams was remarkably rewarding.My professional life has always been a huge part of how I define myself as a person. I love working with an organization that advocates leadership, promotes strong values and strengthens their community spirit. I am always eager to discuss Girl Scouts and the opportunities we provide to girls. Girl Scouts has a positive impact on girls' success and development of their commitment to their communities.
