Siphamandla Hadebe is a self-driven, highly motivated scientist with vast experience in refining of Fischer-Tropsch Synthetic crude & coal gasification derived tar, using hydroprocessing technologies.Upon completion of his PhD in catalysis & molecular modelling, he joined Sasol’s FTRC group, formulated & led complex projects in hydrotreating of FT derived synthetic crude to produce Petrol, Jet fuel and diesel. His contribution to the Refining strategy has been demonstrated over the years through engagement with Technology managers at refining platform meetings.He is business & customer focused, constantly maintaining productive working relationships with IP, Synfuels, Energy Technology, Process Development & 3rd party entities. An active member of the Refining catalyst forum, where he readily shares information through presentations to process engineers to stimulate collaboration & opportunity development.His strong people leadership skills coupled with talent building and coaching attributes were demonstrated through chairing of hydroprocessing bi-weekly sessions, knowledge transfer to junior engineers, execution scientists and process artisans. His proficiency in R&D research has been demonstrated in a number of implemented solutions at Sasol Synfuels refinery & publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is recognized by the Synfuels and Energy Technology for his knowledge in optimizing the performance of the Secunda refinery operation to enhance profitability.
