Strawberry Words is a training and education company that focuses on improving relationships with self and others.We offer training, courses, talks and educational resources that help to develop better communication, empathy, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills. Our training is designed to help people grow and develop in areas such as self-awareness, conflict resolution, active listening, and building healthy relationships in various personal and professional settings. We specialise in helping people and organisations improve relationships in and between cultures and deliver antiracism and diversity, equity and inclusion training.

Developing and delivering youth outreach initiatives for one of the UK's newest Community Benefit Societies and Train Operating Companies.

In my own work I have created, collaborated, hosted and even travelled as a part of my own freelancing. Since 2010 I have sought after opportunities and alike my peers, created my own when necessary. With my passion for the arts, education and working for social justice this has meant I have worked across many disciplines. The range of experience has in turn focused my approach and sharpened my practise. I write and perform Spoken Word Poetry, dance using contemporary, hip-hop and South African house methods. This is aided with my foundation in acting and theatre as well with an interest in Academia and education.

Since Autumn 2016, I have been the faculty of social science's Poet Laureate at the University of Sheffield. This has been an enjoyable and challenging position. I have collaborated with academics and researchers on a number of projects using creative methods to facilitate conversations with young people and even to present and perform creative interpretations of academic work. Which has proved useful in making Academia accessible.

In this position, I have worked on a freelance basis facilitating workshops with young people within the Rotherham (UK) area. This particular role worked within an environment that encouraged young people's growth in imagination and practise through storytelling, which I helped in facilitating young people to develop performance and writing skills through means of spoken word poetry.

The Programmes Producer will support the Head of Programmes to bring to life the Don’t Settle project and to ensure that our development programmes are responding to the mission to change the voice of heritage by empowering young People of Colour to tell the stories of their communities. ● Development of young people through delivering skill based workshops including masterclasses on producing and event management. ● Development of resources and content for the sector on how to engage with young people to be used in the legacy toolkit. ● Ensuring that the programmes/workshop outcomes and objectives are met through evaluation tools created by NHLF, an external evaluator and the Head of Programmes. ● Preparing contracts, volunteer agreements and Statements of Work where necessary ● Managing and overseeing volunteers involved in the activities that the Producer is responsible for coordinating ● Manage the overall aims and objectives of the Activator/Curator programmes and Lunar Campfire ● Support the Head of Programmes to report to the funder, both narrative and financial ● Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of young people ● Constant evaluation of the delivery and ensuring constant feedback from young people about the delivery methods and also their development ● Coordinate and work closely with the Community Developer to recruit for the programme and events, and retain young people on the programme ● Manage the budget for the Activator/Curator programmes and Lunar Campfires

Don’t Settle is a progressive project funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and empowers young people of colour in Birmingham and the Black Country to change the voice of heritage through arts, research and governance. Co-design and co-production are centred in the methodology. The project is partnered with Birmingham Museums Trust, Chance Glass Works Heritage Trust, Birmingham City University, Roundhouse Birmingham.Role included: programme design, event production, commissioning artwork, managing freelancers and cohorts of young people, workshop and event facilitation, bid writing, consulting on youth governance, proposal writing, community consultation, partnership management, designing and delivering training in heritage organisations.

I was asked by Birmingham based engagement and arts agency, Beatfreeks to contribute to a community Anthology published by Verve Poetry Press.

I was commisioned by Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to write a spoken word poem inspired by the history and future of the musuem, as well as to participate as a performer in a Donation video I made with Paul Mchale (Old Dead Eye). It was exhibited on the Bridge Gallery (BMAG) from November 2015 until the end of 2016 and used online to promote donations for the Museum.

Supported by mac birmingham to develop and shape the Next Generation programme by attending three programme reviews a year, representing mac birmingham at board meetings and other signature events, as well as supporting the monitoring and evaluation of key projects and programmes.

As a Birmingham Hippodrome Youth Ambassador, my first objective was to make valuable and practical contributions to the theatre's outdoor arts programme. As well expanding the theatre's community reach through creative and on the ground marketing. As well as: · Actively engaging youth audiences and a whole range of new audiences on the theatre's behalf.· Demonstrating new creative ideas which impact on the theatre's promotion, marketing and programmes.· Engaging with performances and professionals in the arts industry.

I was commissioned by Birmingham based arts organisation MAIA and University of Worcester to create works in response to the University of Worcesters Infirmary history

I was commissioned by Apples & Snakes to write a Spoken Word Poem for Theatre, on the theme of Death and its effects; as part of the Midlands Arts Centre 'Exit Strategy' Programme. The piece culminated in a show alongside renowned spoken word poets Amerah Saleh, Carl Sealeaf & Nafeesa Hamid, and was directed by the award winning actor & director Caroline Horton.
