Teaching at home, I have been in education for 20 plus years, on two campuses that I attended as a student. It all began as an AVID middle school math and science teacher in Newport News, VA for five years. The next 13 were spent teaching math at the high school level while also coaching girls basketball and coed track and field. After a 3 year stint as the Dean of Students, dealing with discipline and attendance on a daily basis I am returning to what excited me as a student and new educator. I will now be the STEM coordinator for our school which will allow me to reconnect with my experience in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
