Omya believes in creating value by developing high-performance devices for hospitals looking to offer a higher level of care at an appropriate price.As a cofounder and company board member, I assumed a central role in propelling the company from its startup phase to a medical device manufacturing company introducing technology products for Indian mid-range markets, with own designed and developed ICU devices including portfolio of Patient Monitoring, Infusion System. My multifaceted responsibilities encompassed every stage of the company's journey, demonstrating a comprehensive skill set ranging from strategic planning to fundraising, team building, product design, and regulatory compliance.

Our flagship innovation involves a state-of-the-art biopsy system that acquires definitive tissue samples without artefact and concurrently injects a hemostatic agent, significantly enhancing the safety and efficacy of biopsy procedures for various organs. With three patented technologies spanning six countries/regions, our organ-specific device portfolio covers kidneys, prostate, breast, and lungs. Committed to collaboration, we've engaged clinicians as core team members, ensuring our solutions meet real-world clinical needs.Under my leadership, IndioLabs embarked on a transformative journey inspired by the imperative to acquire liver tissue samples without artifacts. The project evolved into a pioneering initiative to enhance the safety of soft-tissue organ biopsies. This led to the development of a revolutionary device that concurrently injects a hemostatic agent during the biopsy procedure, mitigating potential risks for patients and clinicians.

The goal of School of International Biodesign is to train the next generation of medical technology innovators and create an ecosystem of frugal medical innovations. This is facilitated through fellowships and events.Funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, the SIB Program is centered in New Delhi and administered as a collaboration between Stanford University, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Queensland University of Technology.
