As a CITES advisor at the Swedish Scientific Authority, my work involves conducting non-detriment findings (NDFs) for applications for trade in CITES listed species to provide the appropriate scientific advice to the Management Authority, and close cooperation with other national authorities to ensure that the trade in wildlife is sustainable and legal. My role has a clear international focus, cooperating with Scientific Authorities of other member states, participating in working groups on CITES-issues, and responsible for the scientific aspects of international CITES meetings such as the Plants- and Animals Committee and the Conference of the Parties.

Worked with the Canadian Centre for Evidence-Based Conservation. Had a key supportive role in the development of two evidence synthesis projects 1) evaluating the effectiveness of law enforcement and related conservation actions in conserving wildlife directly threatened by human activities, and 2) determining the effectiveness of community-based conservation and related governance types at delivering wildlife conservation and human well-being outcomes.

Was responsible for handling and investigating over 25 asylum and migration cases to ensure they had been handled correctly by the Swedish Migrations Agency. I was in charge of assisting and supporting asylum seekers, on legal issues related to their case but also emotionally, and providing information and legal support to their lawyers. Also conducted research on human right violations in different countries/regions and how it relates to Swedish and international refugee laws.
