This drive for increasing economic security for working households led to professional opportunities to serve the people in a variety of sectors. From social enterprises and nonprofits to higher education institutions and political campaigns - thriving in these environs have helped cultivate the skills required to deliver quality results. Specifically, outcomes that curb the tides of income inequality and help families achieve their goals and dreams. Building on a degree in Philosophy from Lake Forest College, my education experience has provided the unique opportunities to learn and grow professionally, including: - Helping people find new careers and launch new social enterprises around the world - including places like Israel and Ghana. - Working with convicted felons re-enter the workforce, gain meaninful employment, and regain their footing in society. - Obtaining my Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Policy with a focus in Human Capital Management at American University. - Developing new knowledge and skills to continue the important work of fighting for working families with sound labor/workforce policy.- Play an integraling role in producing a report for U.S. Government Accountability Office in their effort to help Congress stabilize Puerto Rico's economy post-Hurricane Maria in 2017. These experiences helped illuminate the importance of understanding labor market trends in complex situations, how that information can help policy makers create new ways to help people feel economically safe, and finally, how make those policies work increase human capital value in all walks of life. When I am not on the grind, I enjoy staying political engaged, traveling, playing basketball, watching golf, and working on my dream of owning a private island in the Caribbean. This year my goal is to travel to as many countries, cities, and states as possible. So far, I have been to Jamaica, Portugal, Miami, Boston, D.C., Minnesota (Bemidji & Chanhassen), Houston, Dallas, Sonoma Valley, New Orleans, Atlanta and Denver.
