I set up S.V. Translations in July 2018 to provide freelance translation, review and localizationquality assurance services. I work with all kinds of texts from reusable and easy-to-follow technical documentation to witty and creative marketing materials, trade journal articles and advanced content for technical professionals.Language pairs:- English - Finnish - English- German - Finnish- Swedish - FinnishI do all my translation work with industry-standard CAT tools.

Over my years at LocalEyes I have had the opportunity to work in several interesting and challenging roles and develop my skills in different areas of language services. I have been translating and reviewing texts from English, Swedish and German into my native language Finnish, and from Finnish into English. I have worked for clients in IT, power, automation, printing and packaging and consumer electronics industries, including several world-leading brands. In addition to translation and review work, my experience includes:- Creating and optimising translation projects with CAT tools- Translation memory maintenance- Terminology maintenance- Desk-top publishing (DTP) of translated texts- Localisation bug reporting, tracking and fixing- Analysing source files for potential localisation challenges- Project post mortems- Processing and providing feedback- Liaising with different stakeholders of the localisation process

I worked as the first DTP Team Lead for LocalEyes Group, guiding and supporting the transformation from distributed DTP resource network into a centralised DTP hub that efficiently delivers the expected quality with consistent processes. My responsibilities included:- Driving DTP process standardisation and improvements- Preparing and scoping complex localisation projects and compiling cost-scenarios- Creating and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base for the DTP team- Achieving DTP quality targets- Creating resource evaluation tools, assessing performance and providing feedback- Coaching DTP team members to continuous improvement- Being a point of contact for queries from client-facing project managers and from DTP team- Training the next generation of team leaders for the DTP hub

SBW Haus des Lernens schools offer innovative, creative and individual curriculum and experiential learning. Teachers are mentors who guide every student to discover their potential.My primary responsibility in this internship position was assisting in English lessons, but I participated all activities of this inspiring secondary school. The experience enhanced both my German language skills and my understanding of different learning styles.

My responsibilities included writing reports for the use of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Swedish source material and work in the press office and consular services.

In this summer job I gained experience in public speaking and put my communication and foreign language skills to good use as I educated museum visitors on Finnish nature, history and forest industry.

Summers in ice cream kiosk taught me independent working and the art of sunny customer service.
