Worked as guitar tech and backline tech, then eventually as a guest guitarist and finally as a fill-in bassist. Some of the coolest guys I've ever worked with, always treated me and the crew as equals.

Working for theSTART is what helped me learn how the music business operates. I maintained, repaired and modified instruments for everyone in the band, including fill-in members. I toured with the band internationally on a number of amazing runs with: Coheed and Cambria, The Used, Garbage, Hot Water Music, Alkaline Trio, Golfinger, Team Sleep, Head Automatica, Sugar Ray, Front Line Assembly and more...

My dad (Skip) and I were both hired on to work the Variax Modeling Guitar project. I designed the new work area (they remodeled a corner of the warehouse for us), hired other guitar techs to help production, trained the assembly workers how to handle guitars as well as tuning and doing quality control, assisted customer service with the mountains of guitar related questions they were getting, and worked directly with engineering and R&D on how to make the thing function like the fantastic… Show more My dad (Skip) and I were both hired on to work the Variax Modeling Guitar project. I was down in the depths of that freezing old warehouse doing quality control back when Samick was in City of Industry, California. I also did set ups for Samick/Greg Bennett Guitars/Silvertone Guitars endorsing artists. I worked on guitars for music video shoots and reviews in Guitar magazines. I also occasionally worked directly with the amazing artists and lutheirs in the Valley Arts Custom Shop. I also worked on special projects with the suits upstairs.
