SISTERS GRIMM is a dynamic partnership between former Royal Ballet ballerina for 13 years, Pietra Mello Pittman MBE and Grammy nominated composer and painter, Ella Spira MBE. As the founders and sole directors of the enterprise they have grown Sisters Grimm to be a Grammy Nominated and Award Winning Production Company of culturally themed Dance-Musicals that tour internationally. Sisters Grimm has built up a prestigious creative brand internationally, working with the likes of BBC, Jeremy Irons, Soweto Gospel Choir, Alfie Boe, Joely Richardson, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Channel 4, ITV, the Royal Variety Performance, Prince Harry’s Sentebale Concert, Edinburgh International Festival, Latitude, the Royal Albert Hall, UNICEF, Hi5 and the GREAT Campaign. They have entered into co-productions with the Royal Opera House and the Ambassador Theatre Group, and are Export Champions for the UK Government. Adept at collaborating across cultures and artistic disciplines, since 2009 Ella Spira’s compositions score all Sisters Grimm’s digital content and portfolio of Culturally themed shows that have played in 7 countries including Singapore, China and Russia.During the Coronavirus lockdown, they set up their first international office in UAE and whilst based in Dubai, and inspired by their Emirates-wide travels, they have collaborated with middle eastern music makers to release five songs and music videos, to date, showcasing the nuanced history of the UAE. Together, the five videos have so far clocked up more than 5 million views on YouTube. On World Music Day in May 2020, they released the pan-global anthem Together Let Go. The project combined talents from the UAE – singer-songwriter DB Gad wrote the Arabic lyrics, which were vocalised by Madyan Hamza and Emirati singer Arqam Al Abri – alongside international artists whom Sisters Grimm had previously worked with. Across five continents they included South Africa's Joseph Shabalala, Brazil's Dito Martins and Siori Tanabe from Japan. It has been seen by over 1 million people on YouTube.Continuing Sisters Grimm’s mission to produce relevant work driven by social impact, cultural exchange, diversity & environmental awareness, Spira has already captured landscapes of countries including China, France, UAE, Indonesia, Brazil, Lapland, Albania, UK, Russia and Portugal.

ProducersSisters Grimm Ltd & Inala Ltd Jul 2009 - PresentSisters Grimm are passionate about developing future audiences, making their work accessible to all and building bridges between cultures.Sisters Grimm has portfolio of culturally themed dance musical shows. They conceived and produced their first major theatrical spectacle, "INALA" meaning abundance of goodwill in Zulu, which launched in 2014 marking 20 years of democracy in South Africa and gaining a reach in its first year of 33 million.Inala features choreography by Mark Baldwin OBE and Grammy nominated music co-written by Joseph Shabalala, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Ella Spira.Inala premiered at the Edinburgh Festival, toured the UK, played a season at Sadler’s Wells and at The Peacock, appeared on the Royal Variety Performance and most recently performed at Prince Harry’s Sentebale concert at Hampton Court and at The Royal Albert Hall. The show has now been seen in six countries including Singapore and China, where the show had a reach of over 1.7 million. In May, Sisters Grimm announced their partnership with the digital platform Tencent, making Inala available to their 100 million subscribers. In China, Sisters Grimm expanded their Social Impact & Schools programme engaging and collaborating with Ministers for Education, local government officials, major universities and NGO’s. Over 1000 participants experienced the programme and new ties were forged between theatres and universities allowing for deeper engagement and audience growth. Sisters Grimm were also invited to future Educational residencies and to join Arts University advisory boards.
