Teaching Assistant for Intro to Health Assessment at the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing. Facilitated virtual and in-person health assessment clinical skill labs with 20 students. Fostered a positive and collaborative environment with first year nursing students.

Efficiently and effectively triaged patients in a fast-paced ambulatory clinic within an interprofessional team at a teaching hospital. As part of the Student Learning Support at Ryerson University, I work with students to help optimize their approaches to studying. I spend time exploring the student’s existing study habits and work on adjusting their approaches with practical strategies and learning plans tailored to meet their goals.Some of the topics I explored include:• Learning to manage time and addressing procrastination issues and stress;• Understanding the science of learning and using appropriate learning strategies to study course content and prepare for exams;• Improving GPA, after poor grades;• Achieving Dean’s List or meet the co-op program’s CGPA eligibility;• Building the student’s confidence in difficult course content.

Increased a sense of control and safety in patients suffering from dementia through patient-centered care and therapeutic communication. Developed strong physical assessment skills with head-to-toe assessment and pressure ulcer prevention. Provided independent and safe care for two to three complex patients per shift by administering medication therapy, tracheal suctioning, G-tube nutrition therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, catheterization, and appropriate documentation under the supervision of a clinical instructor.
