I oversee the mine operation in the Balingian Energy Mineral mine site while coordinating with the Sarawak Energy Resources Head Office in the mine progress. I also ensure the mine contractor, Sri Datai Mining is working based on plan.

Tabang Project

Pt. Indonesia Pratama

I was relocated to PT. Indonesia Pratama – Tabang coal mine site on 13th August 2014 to assist the mine planning, including implementing best practices derived from other PT Bayan established sites to improve & increase the site’s production. My work involves daily discussion with the contractors and advice the Mine Plan team on the contractor’s work commitment as per the Contract Agreements. In addition, I am also involve with (1) preparing the various site and technical reports for PT Bayan management, (2) analysis the Contractor’s Work Performance and stockpile inventory, (3) coordinate with the Survey Team at the end of each month regarding coal inventory in the pit and in the stockpile, (4) coordinate with the Health, Safety and Environment Team and the Contractors on matters related to the safety improvement and their implementation at mine site, (5) reconcile the progress claim submitted by the contractors and preparing the payment certificate and (6) to document any issues raised by contractors pertaining to contractual matters and forward to PT Bayan management for resolution. I also occasionally assist the Head Office Marketing team during the potential buyer site visit and due diligence.

Pt. Firman Ketaun Perkasa

I joined Bayan Group on the 26th September 2012 and was assigned to PT. Firman Ketaun Perkasa, as Mine Plan Superintendent. The job requires me to work on the Short Term Mine Planning and daily monitoring at the mine pit. My other responsibilities include (1) preparing various site and technical reports to the PT Bayan management, (2) monitoring the Contractor’s daily mining activities, (3) involve in the Short Term Mine Planning which include to revise the pit, disposal and road design based on operation requirements (able to use AutoCad and MineScape software), (4) conduct reconciliation for the monthly haul distance for the progress claim purposes, (5) advice any issue which is related to the Company’s Contract, ensuring work is not outside the Contract and (6) involved in drafting the documentation to detail work scope and technical specification for the mine contractor, PT. Thiess Indonesia.

I was exposed to both the processing plant (5 weeks) and the mine site (5 weeks). I had enhanced my understanding in the mining industry by learning what os required to produce gold bullion from gold ore. I followed the engineers during the round around the processing plant and the mining site to understand their job description more. I learnt how to handle various situations if any emergency were to occur.
