The CAD program allowed them to see life-like photos of what the finished piece would look like from all different angles. I then sent the CAD file to my manufacturer and delivered the finished ring to them. Working in this capacity required many different organizational and customer service skills. BG&F (now known as Boston Gems) is a wholesale jewelry supply company located in the Boston Jewelers building. I enjoy learning new things so while employed there I decided to study and become a gemologist. Aside from being the in-house gemologist I managed three employees and was a customer service representative. As office manager, I made sure the business ran smoothly and efficiently and was responsible for the business while the owner was overseas on frequent buying trips. As a customer service representative it was my responsibility to determine the necessary supplies required for the jeweler to do his/her repairs. We had both walk-in customers from all over New England but also a thriving mail-order business with customers throughout the US. Due to the quantity of materials we carried I designed a 40 page print catalog which was distributed to our customer base enabling them to place orders more efficiently. I designed and created displays used to showcase our products at the annual Tucson Gem and Mineral trade show.
