As office manager I answer all in-bound customer support calls, schedule technicians for onsite and remote service, order software and hardware, respond to all customer correspondence and keep all of our certifications updated.As the bookkeeper I post all transactions to Quickbooks; pay supplier invoices, issue invoices to customers, ensure prompt payments, record payments, record bank deposits, reconcile all bank accounts and credit cards and process bi-weekly payroll.

Concierge Jewelry Designer & Consultant.Consulted and created custom engagement rings and wedding bands using a proprietary Computer Aided Design (CAD) program for the jewelry industry. Clients could pick and choose design elements that fit their personality and lifestyle which I incorporated into their custom ring. The CAD program allowed them to see life-like photos of what the finished piece would look like from all different angles. I then sent the CAD file to my manufacturer and delivered the finished ring to them. Working in this capacity required many different organizational and customer service skills. It was necessary to stay connected with clients throughout the entire process through phone and email. Clients had many questions/changes/additional elements during the design process. It was very gratifying for me to guide my clients through the process as we created this piece of jewelry signifying the love and commitment they share.

Using my design and business skills I opened Treasures Over Time with my husband in Salem, MA. We carried jewelry, coins and unique gifts. As a small business owner I wore many hats. I wrote a business plan, branded the business, designed the layout of the store and once we opened waited on customers and did the bookkeeping Owning a business requires creativity and adaptability. It was necessary to use skills I already had but I also learned a lot of skills I didn’t even know I needed. I learned to use a POS system, Quickbooks, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Countersketch the proprietary Computer Aided Design software used in jewelry design. Boston Gems and Findings (BG&F) is where I cut my teeth in business. BG&F (now known as Boston Gems) is a wholesale jewelry supply company located in the Boston Jewelers building. I enjoy learning new things so while employed there I decided to study and become a gemologist. Aside from being the in-house gemologist I managed three employees and was a customer service representative. As office manager, I made sure the business ran smoothly and efficiently and was responsible for the business while the owner was overseas on frequent buying trips. As a customer service representative it was my responsibility to determine the necessary supplies required for the jeweler to do his/her repairs. We had both walk-in customers from all over New England but also a thriving mail-order business with customers throughout the US. Due to the quantity of materials we carried I designed a 40 page print catalog which was distributed to our customer base enabling them to place orders more efficiently. I designed and created displays used to showcase our products at the annual Tucson Gem and Mineral trade show.
