• Design and implement a business process capable of building 1 Motor Coach every 37.1 hours in order to improve delivery of 40 Coaches (10M5 and 5M2A GO) to Prasa by 2016/17.• Deliver sales of 165 million by end of the financial year.• Provides Transnet with internal expertise and leadership on Lean Six Sigma, and the process of transforming conventional operations into lean value streams.• Implement total quality management system and reduce cost of rework by 70% at the final inspection.• Streamline the internal refurbished sub-components of the coaches using the operational tagging system to reduce material percentage by 25%.• Improve daily material presentation by implementing pull-push system to ensure alignment of sequential order of activities per station to achieve 90% operational efficiency ratio.• Develop and implement a production visual management system to fast-track operational excellence throughout the business.• Facilitate Toyota Kata and basic problem solving training to 110 employees and mentoring of Industrial Engineers to successfully execute improvement projects.• And Enable creative innovation to secure more work from Prasa and Africa parts to increase our order book from 70 - 165 million.

Key Responsibilities:Delivery of cost reduction, productivity, quality and efficiency improvement project opportunities worth R8 million per annum; Manage and coach 13 local process improvement leaders under me for Durban Eastern Region and Lean Six Sigma Teams;Lead, guide and coach the allocated Centre, and extended region, process excellence resources in continuous improvement processes, primarily in application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies;Facilitate project identification and prioritization workshops in line with business strategy and MDS requirements;Develop and deliver training in lean six sigma methodology and techniques to those involved in the improvement process;Coordinate, guide and drive the overall transformation activity through a combined approach consisting of management driven work stream;Governance of Centre based priority projects and the project pipeline;To establish the appropriate infrastructure and environment to support value streams and lean workplace operations;Coordinate and facilitate the local Lean Forum and BUD;Represent the Process Excellence team at the local CCM Manage the budget for core team activities and resource budget for the total change team;Monitor progress of allocated graduates in line with formal training and development plan;Coordinate and monitor the objectives and implications aligned to the Lean Manufacturing Process and Quality Systems;Proactively manages the organisations resources, seeks alternative funding sources, overseas the implementation and continually looks for the new initiatives to improve customer service and expand opportunities for greater improvements and services.
