  • Openlane
    Senior Director, Internal Communications
    Openlane Sep 2017 - Mar 2019
    Carmel, Indiana, Us
In this newly-created position located in Carmel, Indiana, I led the internal communications team in the development of storytelling, strategy, planning, execution and measurement efforts. The ultimate goal was to positively influence the corporate culture that made up 15 business units due to mergers and acquisitions. By creating a group of content creators from across all business units, my team led the creation of re-branding and rebuilding KAR's corporate intranet. I led the three-month project with internal cross-functional teams, vendors and IT team leads. We launched 80 internal sites, and increased engagement by nearly 50-percent within the first six months. In lock-step with the IT team, we also created the first employee-facing app that enabled remote and global employees to access the intranet with single-sign-on capabilities. In addition to managing daily updates, I led internal campaigns related to increasing employee engagement from change management initiatives to a new KAR HQ, to launching the KAR Learning Connection, and promoting numerous internal services. Content, storytelling, and measurement aligned with organizational strategies across multiple channels from email to video, face-to-face employee meetings, intranet, and events. Leveraged multiple perspectives and cultivated relationships across all levels and business units. Part of the KAR Communication Advisory team for the new KAR HQ, an $18 million dollar investment of the 250,000 square foot office building featuring an open floorplan and broad collaborative work spaces. Created communication tools and town hall meetings to inform and educate the change management necessary for corporate employees in Indiana. http://karauctionservices.com/

  • Susan Jablonski
Career Break - Mom, Volunteer, School Board Member, Event Specialist
    Susan Jablonski Mar 2003 - Feb 2010
Took a break from my vibrant and rewarding career as I had my first child and moved to a new city for my husband's new role in hospitality. We took a huge leap of faith together. It was a 180-degree change for me to go from corporate life to running a household with a newborn. Years later, we returned home to Chicago where I became a school board member, fundraiser, gala event organizer, Girl Scout Leader, and community volunteer. I made a positive difference wherever my talents were needed and made lifelong relationships. Most of all, I will always relish this time I had with my children during their formative years. I will forever be grateful for this time. Curious why #LinkedIn doesn't have Career Break/Pause as a title. Quite frankly, there aren't enough titles for all the things I did during these years. Grateful to be a mom to two amazing daughters who continue to flourish.
  • Ccc Information Services
Manager Of Public Relations And Event Marketing
Ccc Information Services Jun 1999 - Mar 2003
    Chicago, Illinois, Us
I provided expertise with respect to both internal and external audiences. My role was finding ways for executive leadership to shine, so I introduced and launched an industry-first publication from the ground up -- CCC UpFront. I was the managing editor of the publication and responsible for content, layout and design. I helped introduce the concept of consistency and clarity with respect to product and corporate messaging that continues to be used to date. It was fun playing an integral part of launching from the ground up an employee Intranet -- CCCNN. If your employees don't know what you're doing, how are they to communicate to customers? There is a huge gap that many companies don't recognize. Luckily, I assisted CCC in being mindful of this.Much of my role was utilized in helping with CCCG Quarterly Earnings reports, press releases, executive communication training and providing insight to CCC's overall industry image and community relations. I led the company's involvement with 9/11 contributions, Deloitte & Touche leadership awards, city-wide volunteer programs, community relations and much more. I met with industry editors on a regular basis and had many positive relationships throughout the industry. This was a fine company to work for and I appreciate all the opportunities and experiences I had earned.
