As a member of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Centers's Multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Program, I am an integral part of a collaborative team providing comprehensive outpatient care to brain cancer patients from initial diagnosis to end of life. Practice independently in partnership with team physicians and nurses. Provide leadership and team support as Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for a team of five APPs.Implement chemotherapy treatment plans, treat toxicities, and assess and treat acute reactions and illnesses. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe treatment and further studies as indicated. Educate patients on disease processes, risks/benefits of therapeutic options, and arrange for ancillary referrals as needed. Provide supportive care at end of life, working closely with partners in Palliative Oncology.

Partnered with 2 physicians to deliver high quality, cost effective inpatient care for complex medical, surgical and intensive care populations. Average daily census of 35-50 across 3 campuses. Utilized detail oriented problem solving to maintain continuity of care between Hospitalist and Family Practice teams. Collaborated with billing and coding team to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

Provided comprehensive intensive care for critically ill patients during inter-facility ground transport including intubation, defibrillation, needle and surgical cricothyrotomy. Served as Shift Leader and Chairman of Interview Committee (2002).

Surgical ICU: Independently cared for two critically ill patients per shift in a tertiary care setting.
