A short term research placements as a part of the Diagnostic and Drug Discovery Initiative for Alzheimer’s Disease (D3i4AD).I worked on the development of some luminescent copper (II) sensors, based on ruthenium (II) dyes, for use in the early detection of Alzheimer's Disease.

Whilst working with the Bell group as a research assistant, I began development of a technique for monitoring reactions on a single molecule scale using wide-field laser microscopy. I also assisted in building a laser setup capable for being used for d-STORM single molecule imaging, and used confocal microscopy to make lifetime measurements for a fluorescent polymer.
