This job would vary from being on the sales floor to managing stock in the backroom and offloading new shipments to be sent out to the sales floor. We had to keep a high standard of customer service. Every customer was to be helped and their needs were to be met to the best of our ability. We had to know our product line and make sure that we knew where things were in the store so that we could best direct people to what they want.

My day at Ross would include many things. I would receive an assigned area when we arrived for work and it was our job to make sure that area was clean and ready to go for the next day by nights end. I would also come to the front and help check out customers in a timely manner if the cash register area started to get busy and a line started to form. I was back and forth from the sales floor and the cash register.

This was a closing store. So while we had to continue our excellent customer service. We had to keep the store clean and orderly while also closing and managing a lot of changing prices and a changing environment. I got very good at dealing with customers and having a calm attitude with everybody and I was able to leave everyone happy and satisfied.

I had to make sure the areas I was assigned were well maintained and stocked. As well as making sure anywhere else in the stores I was that had our products looked good and was well kept. This job also required good physical shape and the ability to move and lift objects repeatedly.

At this job we would empty trash cans, vacuum, and clean bathrooms. As well as do any other assigned tasks that were not normally done. Such as help with an after school social event. I was the lead nighttime janitor for a school year. In this role I would help assign tasks that needed done and was responsible for making sure the school was locked at night.

At this job I would help maintain the golf course by doing any assigned task. This would include edging trees, sand bunkers, cleaning the mini golf, refilling ball cleaners and much more tasks. We had to be willing to learn at this job and be able to be taught how to do things. We had to be in good physical shape and also respect the golfers at the course as they were our #1 priority.
