• Created a robust framework for operational trending and alerting using Splunk. I focused on using the tool for service and operational metrics rather than a SIEM, which avoided unnecessary labor and bandwidth costs. Work that has regularly been applauded not only by leadership and my peers, but by Splunk representatives who had seen my work when onsite working with others.• Created a dashboard that allows an analysis to be completed in just a few hours as it runs a series of queries to generate charts and tables highlighting usage from a circuit level all the way down to an individual user level. A significant time savings with more detail than we could previously capture.• Using the framework I built, I identified and drove to resolution 2 significant software configuration issues that was causing excessive proxy traffic of several terabytes per day.• Created charts and alerts that would leverage historical trends (10 to 28 days) to create upper and lower boundaries which are then applied to the last 60 minutes of activity to determine if activity is exceeding those previously observed thresholds. • Created metrics and dashboards to provide service delivery managers with cost estimates for their services on a per-user, per-gigabyte, per business unit, or per accessed resource basis.• Using my existing framework, I closely monitored multiple migration metrics as users were moved from one enterprise-wide environment to a new environment. These metrics were able to identify potential issues with end-user configurations which would have limited the success of the migration had they not been immediately identified and addressed.• Used Machine Learning (ML) models and tools built into Splunk to accurately predict user volumes and bandwidth requirements in support of the unprecedented shift to remote work in March 2020.
