Design of a Cisco SD-WAN solution isolated & localised within China for a Global Services Provider. Maintaining regional data sovereignty rules throughout whilst providing access to the customers Global SD-WAN environment.Design lead for a WAN transformation project migrating from MPLS to SD-WAN, incorporating Hybrid Cloud access, for a globally known company. Involved from Bid & RFP stages through to delivery.

Lead Architect on a multi-year Core & Data Centre Transformation Programme for one of Europe’s largest Retail Groups.Projects included: • DMZ and Firewall Consolidation. 30+ Firewalls, multiple DMZ environments consolidated into common vendor with centralised orchestration and management. • Global WAN Aggregation and Network Edge Simplification. Collapsed WAN ingress routing domains from 20+ to 4. Completely removed all legacy WAN ingress complexity thus enabling massive improvements in supportability, security and routing control. • Data Center and Core Network complete refresh. Successfully migrated 2 service critical Data Centres from a traditional 3-Tier switched design to a VXLAN BGP/EVPN Spine-Leaf architecture. • Bespoke Network Automation toolset designed/integrated. Gave the network the ability to self-audit which immediately led to simpler operational support and troubleshooting. Incorporated the capability for the common changes to be automation leading to simpler service addition.

Lead Architect for a large Central Government Managed Service: • Technical lead for a complete Campus Infrastructure refresh in one of the most visited and iconic locations in Central London. • LAN re-design for a 5000+ user environment spread across 13 Campus locations with over 80 service delivery points. Incorporated a routed access approach with security at the edge via Cisco ISE and TrustSec. • Design, and deployment, of an off-site and highly secure DC environment to provide disaster recovery, and backup to the central DC locations, allowing for service continuation of critical national infrastructure.Led a CCIE Professional Services team providing LAN/WAN/DC Design and Consultancy capabilities to key Managed Services accounts. Supporting Bid and Pre-Sales acting as the Managed Services SME.
