I’ve been working in the video/audio industry since 1990, starting in a mom and popshop in Santa Monica as a videotape operator. There I learned the advantage of thinking outside the box, quickly figuring out how to wire decks together to make top-notch copies post haste. It wasn’t long before I was building stand alone dubbing stations able to make several copies at once, each in a different video format. Over the years I mastered color correction and high-grade sound quality by adding Beta SP Decks, mixers, and TBC’s to the workstations.In the mid 90's when DVDs began to overtake videos, I taught myself how to copy and author, urging my employer to purchase the necessary equipment to stay competitive in the new market.In 2002 I left the mom and popshop for the machine room of a postproduction facility. When I saw the racks and racks of video equipment, scopes, Digibeta, Pal, DVC pro, HD down converts, up-converts, and signal flow I realized I was in a very different world. Luckily, before my head exploded, the chief engineer was by my side, and my training began: questions, tech manuals, classes, and trial and error tests. Before I knew it I was on my own, running the machine room, making broadcast copies. Nothing I enjoy more than a good challenge. By 2004, I wanted to expand my skill set. I bought Final Cut Pro 3.0, took classes, read manuals, and put an ad on Craigslist. Now, several years later, I have dozens of editing projects under my belt from features to corporate videos to reality shows to personal event videos.Today I bring to the table a wide array of technical experience in many areas, I am tenacious -- but most importantly, I am a team player.
