COVID caused significant disruption and impacts globally, but also sparked innovative ways for organizations to serve their customers. Virtual Care is one of those innovations. Some see this as a fancy Facetime with your doctor; but it is much more than that.I experienced this firsthand. Years ago—well before COVID—my mother suffered a rare form of heart attack. Doctors were about to insert a stent, but a renowned Cardiologist heard the case on a virtual call and stopped them. His virtual presence prevented what would have been a fatal procedure.Virtual Care is essential, from small clinics to huge hospital networks. It brings specialists to rural areas, manages chronic care conditions, decreases physician burnout, and delivers bedside care (in the hospital and at home).That’s why I do what I do. Helping healthcare providers utilize virtual tools to deliver care more efficiently is important to me.
