Although initially starting out supporting the Vax call centre covering a mixed environment of XP and windows 7, my role has expanded to cover the wider UK business as part of a small team of 4. This includes supporting 300 staff. I currently support the Windows 2012R2 Domain, spread across multiple sites running on Multiple Virtual Xen hardware. I support, decommission, administration migrating and creation of multiple servers. These include AD standards such as DNS and DHCP, Our 365 Exchange platform as well as specialist supplication servers. Upgrading PCs and laptops to a minimum of windows 7. I also update, roll out and maintain Xendesktop builds covering over 100 staff. I also provide first line and troubleshooting support for all non-web and development applications and systems including MS Dynamics, our XenApp Environment, company Landlines, Mobiles and the Cisco Meraki Wireless system.
Service Desk Analyst
My role consists of delivering efficient first line helpdesk support in an ITIL environment to government and private sector companies. This requires a wide range of knowledge of desktop hardware, COTS and bespoke software applications. My key role is to support other staff members at multiple sites via telephone and email, delivering first time fixes via remote systems using Dameware, RDP and LANdesk. My role also requires me to process helpdesk calls via a help desk system using Assyst and Amdocs CRM system, to support service level agreements. I am also responsible as part of a team for other tasks including queue management, hardware procurement, SLA monitoring and liaising with external teams and customers. I am also required to work from home regularly being ‘on call’.
Technical Support / Repair Engineer
My key roles whilst working for Evesham Technology, one of the UK’s largest computer manufacturers, was to diagnose and resolve technical issues on consumer systems over the telephone. As well as this, I was required to troubleshoot and repair all hardware that was returned to base under warranty.
