As a senior consultant with UXC Consulting, I offered expertise in the following areas:• Telephony and Contact Centres including; VoIP and SIP trunking, hosted (cloud) solutions, enterprise telephony, unified communications, web/video conferencing, contact center technology, WFM and Call Recording.• Networking including; LAN and WAN switching and routing, MPLS, VPNs, QoS, 802.1Q, PoE, Ethernet, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, WLAN, 802.1x, RADIUS, Firewalls, Internet Proxy Servers and Ethernet/Optic Fibre cabling.• Radio and public safety networks including P25 trunked radio networks and terminals, analogue and IP paging systems and mobile virtual private networks.An example of engagements undertaken includes:• Leading the development of a 3 year strategic roadmap for Myer's customer service center. The roadmap comprised a target state solution architecture, budgetary costs and associated business benefits to support the department store's shift to omni-channel retailing. • Leading the development of a telecommunications strategy outlining a roadmap and recommendations for the upgrade of WAN, LAN, Telephony, paging, Unified Communications and mobile services to the four hospitals and ancillary healthcare centres operated by Western Health.• Leading the procurement of a WAN and Internet Services RFP for the Australian and New Zealand operations of a global engineering firm. The procurement process resulted in annual savings in excess of $2.5 million. • Assistance in development of three strategic papers on how Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) is best delivered in Australia. The papers took input from all of Australia’s major public safety agencies to document demand requirements, delivery models and the associated costs to provide PSMB throughout Australia.

The following is a sample of projects undertaken while a consultant at UXC Consulting:• Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) – Led a project team in the development of a strategy and technical specification to upgrade technology used by the DSE Customer Service Centre and Victorian Bushfire Information Line. The solution included an automated text-to-speech messaging capability capable of handling the rapid spike in call volumes associated with a bushfire event. • Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA) MMR – Technical expert for negotiation of $100 million contract extension for the Metropolitan Mobile Radio (MMR) used by Victoria’s public safety agencies. • Goulburn Murray Water – Led development of IP telephony and unified communications strategy and specification. The study provided detailed analysis of hosted and on-premise solution architectures taking into consideration their functionality and total cost of ownership over a 5 year period.

Gibson Quai–AAS (Now UXC Consulting) was Australia’s leading independent, specialist telecommunications and information technology consulting company providing professional consulting advice in telecommunications and related disciplines to Corporate, Government, Industry, Regulatory and Investor clients in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region.The following is a sample of projects undertaken while a consultant with Gibson Quai - AAS.• Victorian Government Services Division (GSD) – Development of procurement strategy and RFP documentation for the whole of Victorian Government mobile, fixed voice and fixed data carriage services having a combined value of approximately $175 million per annum.• University of Melbourne – Solution Architect for strategic review of Melbourne University’s LAN, WAN, Security, Data Center and Support architecture and policy. Previous work also includes evaluation of tenders for implementation of VoIP and unified communications technologies including video conferencing, mobility, WiFi interfacing and call center functionality to approximately 10,000 users across 11 campuses.• Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy - Member of national technical evaluation team engaged by the Australian Federal Government to evaluate responses to the initial National Broadband Network (NBN) tender process to build a $12 billion FTTN network.• Country Fire Authority (CFA) – Member of Radio Replacement Project technical team responsible for evaluation of responses for over 1000 P25 compliant portable, mobile and transportable repeater solutions for field use by CFA personnel.

Analysys Mason is a global technology consultancy that specialises in providing consultancy for the IT and telecoms industry. During my time at Analysys Mason I worked in the end user and public sector division providing strategic and procurement advice to local UK government.Projects undertaken while on secondment to Analysis Mason included:• Cambridgeshire Together Public Sector Network – Conduct of requirements gathering, business case and development of tender documentation for the combined procurement of WAN, Telephony, Security and LAN Management services for 7 councils and public safety authorities within the Cambridgeshire region. • East Midlands Broadband Consortium (UK) – Led a strategic review of ICT services provided to over 600 schools across 8 local authorities. Scope of services included secure broadband connectivity, hosted collaborative applications, identity management and helpdesk services. • Leicestershire and Leicester City Councils – Assisted in the development of a network architecture and associated cost modelling for consolidation of 5 separate networks into a shared WAN network connecting over 300 council and school sites in the Leicestershire area. The project considered the security issues and synergies associated with a common network infrastructure.
