As Founding Director of the Albright Institute for Global Affairs, I created, with the faculty director, a model for educating and inspiring the next generation of citizens for global leadership.As the Albright Institute’s chief architect, I cultivated strategic partnerships with leading individuals and organizations: think tanks, museums, NGOs, CEOs, and foreign presidents, recruiting national and international leaders and policymakers to be present as guides to future female leaders. I have designed and developed partnerships and internship programs in Europe, South and East Asia, India, Latin America, and Africa.My career includes expertise in career development and life coaching. I directed the Center for Work and Service at Wellesley College, an innovative career resource. Leadership areas include: career advising, workshops and programs, recruiting and job development, graduate and professional school programs, fellowships, internships, community service, and research resources.After years as a leader in higher education, I now contribute to the field helping to shape its future. From global affairs, women’s career development, and equity and inclusion, I understand the culture of higher education -- its consultative nature and its challenges.

At the vanguard of curricular and pedagogical innovation, the Albright Institute promotes global understanding, analysis, and action:• Advancing a multidisciplinary approach to liberal arts teaching and learning• Incorporating lectures from across the disciplines by faculty stewards of their professions• Integrating the contributions of the world’s leading decision-makers and policy leaders through personal interaction with students• Encouraging collaborative group problem-solving across academic disciplines and national cultures (students from 35+ nations)• Enlarging the world as a classroom through hands-on engagement, bold service, and courageous actionMajor Accomplishments:• Founded, developed and directed overall strategy and goals of the Institute, in concert with program’s Faculty Director, including curriculum development, assessment, high-profile public dialogues, and lecture programs. Executive Director, Center For Work And ServiceWellesley College 1998 - 2014Created the Center for Work and Service as a leading college/university model of experiential education, service-learning, mission-driven internships, fellowships, career and graduate study preparation. A centerpiece of students’ education, the Center grew from funding a small number of internships to over 350 annually. Ninety-one percent of students engaged in an internship or study abroad.Major Accomplishments:• Managed 20+ staff, complex endowments and budgets; raised sustaining funds, interacted with faculty, alumnae and outside corporate and nonprofit recruiters. • Supervised major national fellowships programs: Rhodes, Marshall, Watson, Truman, Fulbright.• Co-chaired with the academic dean of the college, a multi-constituency task force that examined the relationship between traditional classroom learning and internships, service, and experiential education. Developed a strategic alliance with the dean that resulted in a decade of growth in the Center’s internships and service learning programs. • With dean of the college, co-founded The Tanner Conference, a day-long, fall semester event showcasing student learning that takes place off-campus, and promoting dialogue among all constituencies about the purpose, value and effect of such learning. • Expanded scope and geography of internships across the U.S. and to more than 50 countries throughout Europe, South and East Asia, Latin America, and Africa. o Established a faculty fellows program to incorporate academic departments in the internship process to ensure equity of opportunity, stipend allowance and curricular connections.o Created American Cities, a structured, immersive internship program offered in partnership with alumnae in key US cities.o Marketed programs to major donors for The Wellesley Campaign; raised $18.5 M in funds to increase number of stipends for student internships from 30 to over 300 internships annually.
