About Soo Jin Park
Speech sound is not just sound. It conveys thoughts, feeling, identities, and a lot more. As an engineer, I am interested in automatically extracting such information and in using it to benefit people. My PhD research aimed at integrating knowledge from psychology and linguistics with automatic speech processing. By doing so, we could better understand perception and improve machine performance, such as automatic speech recognition, speaker recognition, and emotion recognition. I am confident that my experience can provide novel insights to solve many more speech research problems.
