As a business controller at DHL Express, I support financial decision making for two Tier 1 countries. Within EY Montesquieu, I focus on strategic financial advisory of (decentralized) governments and public-private partnerships (PPS). An important part of our work is the guidance of government projects, mostly involving projects that the government agency enters into with a market party and where the government has to provide financing or a guarantee to the market party. Within our team we advise governments and their associated agencies in all project phases from assessing and outlining the purpose of the project, to conducting a stakeholder analysis, negotiating with the market party about the terms and conditions of the guarantee or financing, as well as drafting the contract and monitoring the project after it has been implemented.These activities involve assessing the business case, conducting an analysis of the creditworthiness, assessing the collateral and conducting tests on whether financing and guarantees are offered on market terms using Bloomberg.In addition to my commitment to the public sector I support the health care team within EY Montesquieu on a regular basis. The team advises clients on receiving funding through the entire funding process. This includes cash flow forecasting through financial modelling in excel, building the business case qualitatively and quantitatively, disseminating information among- and negotiating with financiers, managing interest rate risk after the implementation of loans and many other financial aspects related to debt advisory and risk management.
