Working as part of the HR team, I delivered support, guidance and advice to the company to enable the strategic vision to be met. With over 200 branches nationwide and more than 2000 staff, the need to be able to build relationships and share knowledge was an integral part of day to day requirements. My aim was to enable managers to manage and motivate their teams to deliver excellent customer service.

I provided a comprehensive personal and relevant HR service. Training courses and management briefings were delivered that not only complied with the law but progressed individuals personally and assisted them in moving their skills forward. Supported the smooth process for restructures, TUPE transfers, redundancies and work force planning changes. Supported companies with grievance, disciplinary and welfare meetings.

I led a Complex and time restricted TUPE transfer which included union negotiations, completed in a timely manner with a positive outcome for all. I instigated and followed through with a restructure of the company and many of its working practices to recognise the different skills, abilities and communication styles required to ensure right mix of expertise was attained. Integral to steering the Company to successfully attaining Investors in People status in 2010. By creating an environment of self learning and development, the process quickly became embedded in the daily workings of the company.This stand alone role required me to create, implement and maintain all Human Resources and Health and Safety policies and procedures. I enabled staff to progress in a family run business by putting in place systems and training, that enables individuals to make transparent, audited decisions. This in turn has meant the Directors were able to retire or relinquish aspects that before then, would never have been dealt with outside the family. I undertook all risk assessments and chaired the Health and Safety Committee. My knowledge of employment law meant the Company has not had to appoint Employment Law Solicitors for anything other than a TUPE takeover by them in 2008. General management duties include arranging insurance for all aspects of the Company's activities, organising building works and day to day maintenance issues. I was involved with resolving customers complaints.

I was responsible for ensuring good practice and compliance with Essex Police policies and UK /European legislation. Point of contact for three territorial Divisions and six HQ Departments with job share partner, totalling 1300 staff.Job evaluation and workforce planning.Maternity co-ordinator for both police and support staff. Student work placements, I created the programmes and timings. Contract review and preparation.Training courses.

Providing both 2% efficiency and 2% budget cuts. This amounted to in excess of £52000. Ensured productivity of the department was not altered.Influenced and negotiated with Senior Management team concerning conflict over building works to be undertaken. My plan was accepted and created two good size office areas in a location that had limited space. I liaised with all levels of staff for budget setting, coordinating building works, health and safety compliance and organising force wide conferences.

During this role I created and monitored an exit questionnaire for Support Staff, information gathered was used to aid recruitment decisions and to challenge unsatisfactory working practices. Created a working partnership in the community with the charity MENCAP. Required to provide a sound administrative support to Divisions. This included: placing adverts for vacancies. Preparing all contractual documentation. monitoring sickness absence. Providing helpline advice on generic issues.

To settle deals made on the trading room floor. Executing foreign currency exchanges to ensure funds were transferred to the correct bank at the correct time and release or receive the shares/options/forwards/bonds exchanged.
