To expand their position in the senior living market, Lifeline purchased industry leader Care Technologies in October 2005. Philips purchased Lifeline in 2006 and relocated me to the Boston area to lead the consolidation of three major product lines gained during acquisitions. Care Technologies was founded in March of 1995 to serve the emerging elder care/senior living market with an advanced onsite emergency call and management system. Through a robust and flexible product line, outstanding customer support and a dedication to understanding customer needs, Care Technologies grew to approximately 5.5 million in sales, 30 employees and 350 customers before being acquired by Lifeline in 2005.

My responsibilities included every aspect of developing the product line, including customer/industry research, concept creation and detailed design, bread boarding, CAD work and small production management. I served as tech support and helped establish a tech support team. Once the team was created I served as the top level of tech support for customers and internal personnel, which included training technical and non-technical customers, tech support reps and field techs. I served as an engineer, lead engineer and engineering manager. This was a part time position that was concurrent with my employment at Care Technologies. As the head of youth ministry I was responsible for:  Established and maintained programs for high school youth. Taught topical lessons at a level the youth can understand. Researched, planned and executed retreats, servant events and international mission trips. Communicated with parents to hear concerns and input about the program and discuss the development and behavior of their youth. Controlled budget through careful spending and fund raising events

VBS is a week long day camp program that can be thought of as small business. The budget is set by the Church and is augmented by registration fees, souvenir sales and fund raising events. The customers are the 150 elementary school children who attend plus their parents. The staff is comprised of approximately 50 volunteers. The vendors are companies that supply the needed materials for crafts, snack and other activities. While its fun for the children, this is a fast paced, high pressure management function. Duties incluceded:-Recruited, motivated and trained 50 volunteers.-Created and managed an advertising campaign in the local area.-Maintained a net 0 budget accounting for initial budget, registration fees, souvenir sales and program expenses.-Supervised and managed daily activities crafts and events for 150-200 elementary aged children.-Resolved staff, child and parent problems though coaching and effective communications;.-Instantaneous day to day problem resolution.
