Safe Sisters is a women’s digital safety training and fellowship program that builds the capacity of Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs), journalists and/or media workers, equipping them with skills, strategies and knowledge to understand and respond to digital safety challenges that they may face in their work. Through a combination of self-study, tool practice, mentorship, workshops, peer sharing, and small grants, these cohorts of women will join forces to take on the most pressing digital challenges that pose safety and security risks for women’s engagements online. The program navigates discussions around cyber harassment and online violence of WHRDs, journalists and/or media workers.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Since 2014, nearly 4,400 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa have participated in the Fellowship. The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished leaders and have established records of promoting innovation and positive impact in their communities and countries.

Zimbabwe’s education system encompasses 13 years of primary and secondary school. There are seven grades in primary school while secondary school is split into two levels; lower secondary covering Forms One to Four and upper secondary covering forms Five and Six. Compulsory education in Zimbabwe comprises primary and lower secondary.Equal numbers of boys and girls complete primary school, but by the time they graduate to secondary school, there are half as many girls as boys.
