About Ola Skavhaug

I am an experienced software developer, researcher, and project leader. I work in Expert Analytics AS, a private research and development consultancy a colleague and I founded in 2013. Since 2014, I have worked with hydropower modelling and analysis for Statkraft AS, where I among other projects have been deeply involved in the development the Statkraft's open source software, Shyft, for spatially modelling discharge in water catchments based on distributed input and different hydrological models. At Statkraft I have also been a main developer of Adam, a novel analysis platform for medium to long term energy market simulations. I am also regularly giving hands on courses in the Python programming languages for the industry.My main areas of technical expertise are mathematical and numerical software development, algorithm development, advanced scripting with modern scripting languages, parallel programming, software testing and deployment, library design, and scientific visualization.
