A passionate advocate for the geriatric community, I serve as a Nurse Practitioner at the VA, providing primary care and case management to homebound Veterans with complex medical, social and behavioral conditions, through the VA's Home Based Primary Care program. With experience in hospice and end-of-life care, I focus on improving access to care and quality of life for older adults.Before switching careers to healthcare, I worked for 10 years as a software developer, information systems engineer and technical lead, specializing in client server and enterprise technologies. I implemented applications ranging from transactional WebServices, VoIP network management, CORBA services, large scale Enterprise Cisco IOS network management to desktop and SaaS for non-profits. I remain a part-time software and cloud systems consultant in both the non-profit and corporate sectors.When not nursing or coding, I enjoy performing on the pipe organ throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The recipient of many piano and pipe organ competition and scholarship awards, I have performed in Australia, Europe and the United States. As organist for the Basilica Cathedral of St. Joseph, I performed in Rome, Assisi, and for the Holy Father at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. A member of the American Guild of Organists, I'm in demand as a vocal and ensemble accompanist, and served in 2009 as Artist Liaison for the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
